2017/18 performance
For 2017/18, the total number of people signposted was 618, which is a 26% increase on the previous year. The increase reflects the time invested in training and raising awareness amongst our workforce in the appropriate steps to take to support someone who may be struggling with day to day tasks or be in danger and require safeguarding.

2016/17 performance

For 2016/17, the total number of people signposted was 490.

Our staff raise concerns about people they encounter during the course of their work – these include vulnerable residents who neglect themselves; suffer from dementia; risk their safety by hoarding; or are increasingly frail or needing mobility aids; people not receiving attendance allowances they are entitled to or, in extreme cases, individuals appearing to be at risk of harm or abuse. We use a common sense approach to assess all of the risks an individual may be facing, so take into account additional areas, such as the risk of slips, trips and falls; social isolation; general well-being and the impact of hospital equipment in the home, for example safety considerations around using oxygen for medical reasons.
