Quarter 3 - December 2018
For Quarter 3 (based on a rolling 12 months) total recorded crime offences excluding fraud was 53.8 per 1000 population. The mean is 72. This indicates a slight rise in offences from the previous quarter but is still well below the mean (average) for the South East ADASS Region.
Quarter 2 September 2018 performance
For Quarter 2 (based on a rolling 12 months) total recorded crime offences excluding fraud was 50.3 per 1000 population. The mean is 68. This is a considerable reduction on the Quarter 1 figure and reflects a drop in recorded offences across all of the South East (ADASS) region for the same period.
Quarter 1 June 2018 performance
Crimes per 1000 population for West Sussex as at end of June 2018 based on a rolling 12 months is 61.2.
The mean (average) for the comparison region, is 76.1.
So, whilst the figure has increased from the last quarter we are still well under the average for the area and still on track in terms of the 2022 target.
The increase in crime is reflected nationally and is in part due to changes in recording practices for some crimes and an increase in the recording of some violent crime offences that were not previously recorded.
Quarter 4 - March 2018 performance
West Sussex 52 crimes per 1,000 residents against a regional average (mean) of 75.54 crimes per 1,000 residents.
Quarter 3 - December 2017 performance
West Sussex total is 59.86, and slightly up from Quarter 2 at 58.11. Current regional average is 74.45 crimes per 1,000 population.
